Caitlin's camp art

This is my camp art and this is how you make it. First you get a bit of paper then you draw whatever sort of background you want, now you get another bit of paper and you rule down 16 and you rule across 8 and this will give you the pants. After you have done this you get a piece of paper and you fold it across ( short way ) and with a pencil you draw a shoe almost as big as the piece you are drawing on when you are finished drawing that you put it on a window and you draw over it and you have your shoe then you get a piece of paper and do it as a leg and then you stick it all on with the leg under the pants and the sock under the shoe. First you design your back round then you draw shorts,socks,shoes then you get skin colour card.

Tui Ridge Camp

Room 4, along with rooms 1, 2 and 12 had an amazing time at camp. It was really hot the whole time due to the wonderful sunny weather we had all week. Below are some photos of the things we got up to, but check our class webpage for heaps more photos. Click here: Room 4 Tui Ridge Photo Page

If anything is missing from camp we collected a lot of lost property and will be going through it all on Monday morning.

Also class swimming next week is Wednesday, and the optional lunchtime swim is Thursday.

Ravi's name art

First we wrote our names,they had to be wobbly but connected as well,the letters could be overlapped by other letters.Then we filled the gaps between the letters with criss-crossed and wavy patterns & finally we coloured the letters with different colours. By Ravi

Camp Equipment List

Room 4 along with Rooms 1, 2 and 12 are going on camp next Tuesday 19 February. We have been doing lots of preparation in class, and although the equipment list has been sent home, here it is again, just in case you can't find your copy. Time to start packing.

Room 4 Swimming

Room 4 are really enjoying their swimming lessons each week. Sue Woods (the coach from Kelly Sports) has been assisting one group, and Miss Cramond is taking the other two groups. The solar heating is keeping the pool nice and warm too, especially during those morning sessions. Check out some of the Room 4 children in action.

Maths warm up games

Check out the room 4 maths class playing Tahi, Rua, Toru. It's like Rock, Paper, Scissors, except you say Tahi, Rua, Toru then hold out between 1-5 fingers. The first person to add them up correctly and call out the answer wins.

Show Don't Tell

Today we were concentrating on painting a picture in the readers mind about what we were thinking. We got given a sentence that was really simple and we had to add more exciting words to improve it.

Our simple sentence was: My bike is red.
