Check out Ishbel in the Hamilton Press this week showing off the iPads being used at Hukanui School. Hopefully by the end of term 2 we will have 6 iPads in room 4 to help us learn and discover new things.

Pets should be allowed at school. I think that's a bad idea. There were 3 reasons why I think this. They are some pets could have fleas,some go to the toilet any where and some would fight each other. 

First idea- Every one knows most of the animals living in the wild also have fleas by living in the wild. Same with our pets, they can have fleas too! If someone bring a pet has fleas and he or she takes to school the fleas will jump on another animal or human. At last there might be a flood of people with fleas on their head! So if that going to happen what can we do? 

Second idea- Pets can go toilet any where,some of the pets know where they allowed to go toilet. If the pets was allowed at school, they might go to the toilet on the worksheet or on someone's school bag ,chair,desk floor or books. It will make our school very dirty and give the cleaner harder work. At last ,if the thing gets out of the control ,the school might be smelly and dirty and no one will want to the school. 

Third idea-pets can fight each other. Pets are wild creatures. They all have enemies and if some one brings a dog some one brings a cat and some one brings a mice and the dog might chase the cat and the cat might caught the mice and going to the vet and pets cost more money than humans.

Cellphones should be allowed at school. I think cellphones shouldn't be allowed at school. There are three reasons why I think this. They are,you could cheat on a test, you could pretend you were sick and ringtones could have bad language.


If you were sitting some kind of maths test and there was a really hard question you couldn't answer you could cheat by going on the internet. This would be bad because 1. The answer might still not be right. And 2.the teacher might give you harder questions your not ready for. This would mean you would get them all wrong.


Another one of my reasons are if you were sitting a test and if you didn't want to do it. You could call your mum to pick you up by saying school was finishing early. And if you didn't want to do a specific subject. You could call your parents and say you were feeling sick. This also would be bad because 1. you would be lying to your parents and 2. you would still have to finish a test or school work you missed out on. So you would have to do it another day.


My last reason is if you were at your desk working and your phone rang and the ringtone was annoying you could disrupt the class. It could also have bad language. This would mean you would get in serious trouble. How embarrassing would that be.


This is why I think this is a bad idea. I hope you agree with my opinions I am sure there are many other reasons why this is a bad idea. Don't let this happen.

Zara's persuasive writing

Cellphones should be allowed at school. I think cellphones shouldn't be allowed at school. Here are three reasons why I think this. Someone could text there parents and fake been sick. Cellphones could cause interruptions during class. They could also cause cheating on tests.

It wouldn't be a good idea to have cellphones at school. Here is one example. If you have to sit a test and you didn't want to sit it you could text your parents. Another example is if you didn't want to stay in and do work during school hours you could text your parents and say something fake like been sick . This would be a bad thing because you would end up sitting your test or work another day.

It wouldn't be a good idea to have cellphones at school. Here is my second example. During work cellphones could cause interruptions by messages coming though phones which would end up making your ringtone go off. Another example is if you were talking on your cellphone you would get off task. This would be a bad thing because in the end everyone will get off task and listen to your conversation.

I don't think cellphones should be allowed at school. Here is another example. If you had a maths,reading or writing test you could cheat by going on the Internet and looking up the question if it was challenging. This would be a bad thing because you would end up in a high group which could be too challenging for you.

This is why I think this a bad idea. I hope you agree with my opinion. I am sure there would be many other reasons why I think this is a bad idea. Don't let this happen to you.

Maeroa kapa Haka group visit

Today we watched Maeroa Intermediate preform their kapa Haka performance. They started with a welcoming song then they sung a song that started quiet then got very Loud!!! Then the leaders said a speech about their competition and how they are going to Tauranga to perform at the Nationals. We thought they were awesome because they did all their actions in time and they showed pride in their performance. We liked how they made faces and pulle Puranas. They used pois too.
