Hot air balloons by Ishbel

"Wake up or we will be late!" Mum yelled from the hallway. I slumped out of bed and dragged myself downstairs. "Hurry up and eat your breakfast" mum said in an annoying tone. After I inhaled my toast and cereal I flopped into my school uniform. I then leaped onto my bike with my parent's and brother we then cycled to Callum brae park to see the hot air balloons float through the early morning frost. The sunrise reflected beautifully off the hot air balloons. After watching the balloons sail further than the horizon we then made our way to school and to tell my friends about the fantastic hot air balloons.

  1. This is a beautiful descriptive piece, Ishbel. It certainly sounds like it was worth getting up to go and see them. I particularly like the phrases "I inhaled my toast and cereal" and "the sunrise reflected beautifully". Both these phrases helped me to picture the scene clearly in my own mind. Clever.
